"Even as you have us for an example"
Divinely Approved Examples

One method which God uses to teach His will, is stories of conduct which He approves. When Jesus chose His apostles, He sent them out to be His envoys and He gave to them the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Jesus also gave them the authority to reveal God's will to the christians of the first century.

The conduct of the faithful christians who were living according to the Apostles' guidance is one of the methods that God uses to teach us in the scriptures.

Paul taught the Corinthians and the Philippians that they were to imitate Paul's imitation of Christ. I Corinthians 11:1  Philippians 4:9

In Acts 15, Paul and Barnabas gave examples of God's approval of their preaching of the gospel to the Gentiles.
